MUSIC NEWS Mark your calendars for being part of Wayside’s music program this fall! Wednesdays will be busy with WOW Club, Choir, WaYouth Choir and Primary Choir rehearsals. Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. the Chancel Choir will rehearse. All are welcome. Any instrumentalists who would like to provide special music or accompany anthems should contact Dawn Weborg. FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY On behalf of the Friends of the Library, I want to thank all the Wayside volunteers who helped set up our annual book sale, both on Friday, June 14th and Saturday, June 15th. A special apprecia- tion goes to all the hard working energetic crew on Friday night who not only set up 110 tables, but unloaded our first truck, and gave us a great start for Saturday! The sale was a big success and we could not have done it without you. Thanks again. Marion Gallivan JUST A REMINDER Even as the summer and all its joys continue to roll along, so does the church and all its pro- grams. This includes its finan- cial commitments. Please check to make sure that you are up- to-date on your pledge and your giving to Wayside. With everyone’s continued and grow- ing generosity, we can move into the fall as good stewards and with the church on good footing financially. SOPHIA CIRCLE The Sophia Circle will start meeting again on Friday, September 12th at the home of Karen Haas. Please mark your calendar. If you are not familiar with the Sophia Circle here is a little bit about us: All women of Wayside are welcome to attend. Friends are invit- ed too. We start and end our meetings with prayer, a time for reflection ( bible study/book study) and time for snack & fellowship. We meet the 2nd Friday of each month September - May at 7:00 p.m. at a circle member’s home. Each month we share the responsibility of hosting and study leader. Our Circle meetings ranged in attendance from 7-16 women. We ask each woman to notify the hostess whether or not they can attend. In September and October we will finish our current study “Becoming Fully Human - the Greatest Glory of God” by Joan Chit- tister. In addition, we will review materials and select a new study for the rest of the year. If you have any questions please contact Alice Edwards or Karen Haas. MANY THANKS Wayside would like to express its genuine gratitude to several people who have gone out of their way to meet one of the specific needs of the church. Special thanks to: All the adults and teens who worked so hard to make our Vacation Bible School program a success. The Waysiders and friends who volunteered with Habi- tat for Humanity on the “House That The Apostles Built” in June. All those who have planted and tended the flower and vegetable gardens. There are many others who contribute generously of their time and efforts in support of the church; we are grateful to all of them. WORSHIP SERVICE SCHEDULE We will continue with our sum- mer worship schedule through August 31st. On September 7th we will return to the regu- lar 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. worship times.
